PanAmerican Wireless is happy to report that we
have received our first block of local numbers
for Panama City and surrounding area from
A.S.E.P., the local government regulatory
agency. Local telephone numbers for our
telephone service within this region will begin
shortly. More information on this will be
forthcoming.
PanAmerican Wireless Acquires Long Distance Dial in number

PanAmerican Wireless is happy to report that we
have received our long distance dialling prefix
from A.S.E.P., the government regulatory body.
Long distance dialling by the public will soon
be possible by dialling 010 in front of the 001
dialling code to the United States for example.

PanAmerican Wireless wishes to notify its
readership that the company has secured a
second place finish in our bid to supply
Internet for the Schools project. The lowest
bid was from a company called GBNet out of
Costa Rica. PanAmerican Wireless management is
now clarifying with the government if the
lowest bid price is actually the sole criteria
for bid selection. As of the date of this
writing, the contract between GBNet and the
Panama Government had not been signed even
though it was announced over a month ago that
GBNet had the lowest bid.

PanAmerican Wireless, SA has recently submitted
a bid to the Panama Government Department of
Education to supply Internet to over 300
schools throughout Panama. "We are excited for
this opportunity to assist in providing quality
education to Panama school children" says
